Practical Nurse
Let us prepare you to practice nursing under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will be certified to work within acute, intermediate, long term and ambulatory health care facilities.

Infection Prevention and Control Certificate
Introduces the basis for infection control mechanisms and fosters the use of clinically proven best practices and techniques.

Nurse Preceptor Certificate
Trains RNs with a minimum of 2 years’
experience to work as Clinical Preceptors — experienced practitioners who supervise
students during clinical practice.

Associate Degree in Health Sciences
This programme is geared toward providing classroom and clinical experiences sufficient to ensure a competent graduate. To facilitate learning, materials, supplies and equipment are available in the classrooms and clinical laboratories.

BScN
Our four-year BScN prepares you to sit the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR) — the legal requirement to practise as a Registered Nurse in Jamaica — and to pursue NCLEX (USA) or CRNE (Canada) licensure.

What programmes does Sigma College offer?
Seven programmes: the four-year BScN, the one-year RN to BScN upgrade, a two-year Associate Degree in Health Sciences, the 60-week Practical Nurse programme, Phlebotomy (30 hours), the Nurse Preceptor Certificate (3 months, distance learning), and the Infection Prevention and Control Certificate (30 hours).
How much does the BScN programme cost?
Tuition for the BScN is JMD 515,000 per year over four years. Fees for every programme are listed on this page and are subject to change — contact the Registrar's Office to confirm current fees before applying.
What are the entry requirements for degree programmes?
A minimum of five subjects (G.C.E. O-Level or CXC), which must include English Language, Mathematics and Biology (or accepted equivalents), plus a school leaving certificate, a medical certificate, and an interview. The full requirements — including the list of eligible subjects — are in the programme details above.
I don't have all the required subjects. Can I still apply?
Possibly, through mature entry. Applicants with a minimum of five years' related experience can qualify through verified prior learning, previous training credits or professional qualifications, and by sitting a Challenge Examination.
When do programmes start?
Degree programmes admit each September; the RN to BScN accepts applications on a rolling basis. For short-course start dates, contact the Registrar's Office.

Which exam do BScN graduates sit to become Registered Nurses?
