About
The Clinical nurse preceptor programme functions under Sigma College of Nursing and Applied Sciences of St. Ann, Jamaica. It is given direction by the Nursing Council of Jamaica.

The preceptor serves as a clinical instructor to new employees and students, assisting with the transition into the clinical environment. A preceptor must be a: role model, educator, facilitator and evaluator. This course is designed to prepare health care professionals for their role as preceptors. The programme provides the tools and motivation for the preceptor to be effective in transitioning students or new staff members into a new job role.
